Just 5.3 per cent are truly pleased with their broadband movement.
According to comparison and info site Broadband Genie, phone networks have got a long way to go in order to appease their customers.
The report says just 5.3 per cent of UK mobile broadband users were 'definitely happy' with download speeds, 20 per cent are 'happy', while 56.8 per cent say they're unhappy with the performance.
Further results show 15.8 per cent claim their speeds are 'OK' and 22 per cent said they were unsure what to think.
The report will likely shock network providers revealing the huge amount of room for improvement.
Chris Marling, editor, Broadband Genie, said: "While home broadband speeds have been racing forward, 3G mobile broadband has stood still -- devices that were heralded as 'up to' 7.2Mb almost five years ago are still often averaging below 2Mb in reality.

"Consumers are increasingly unhappy about mobile broadband speeds because they are getting more and more out of their home broadband. They expect that experience to translate to their internet experience on the move -- thanks to poor reception, frequent drop-outs and slow speeds, it simply isn't even close."
Marling also highlights the issue with the introduction of 4G, which he believes will solve the problem. He says saying Ofcom is slowing down the process and it isn't likely to be a reality until 2013.
