Yesterday, data from analytics firm Flurry claimed that 44% of iPad launch apps are games. But what kind of games, and who's making them?
Industry site PocketGamer.biz has been doing its own number-crunching on that score, analysing the 97 iPad launch games that it's currently aware of.
It finds that 26% of them fall into the Puzzle genre - the most popular category - followed by 12% Action and 10% Sports.
65% of iPad launch games are being ported from existing iPhone titles, 16% are all-new, and 10% originate on console, according to the analysis.
Indie studios are responsible for 44% of the launch games, with publishers accounting for 31% and mid-tier developers a further 23%.
