More content deals for Verizon Wireless' 4G service

Rhapsody, Slacker Radio, Gameloft and Bitbop join the LTE fun.

We reported last week on Verizon's announcement of several partners for its 4G network rollout, including MOG, Ustream, EA Mobile and Skype.

Now more entertainment firms have confirmed their plans to take advantage of Verizon's LTE network.

Music service Rhapsody is launching an 'enhanced version' of its Android app, with higher-bitrate streams and faster downloads, as well as video content.

Rival Slacker Radio will also be making its app availabel for Verizon's 4G customers, promising 'high-fidelity audio', high-res album art and station cacheing.

Games publisher Gameloft will be releasing an online multiplayer version of its Let's Golf! 2 game for Verizon's 4G smartphones.

Finally (for now), Fox Mobile Group has announced that it will be launching its Bitbop mobile video service for both 3G and 4G customers on Verizon.

The latter will get - you guessed it - higher-quality video streams and downloads over the LTE network.

"We designed Bitbop to be able to leverage advances in bandwidth as well as handset technology, specifically resolution and screen size," says EVP of global products Joe Bilman.
