Microsoft store bags around 1,750 more apps each week than RIM.
App store analyst Distimo says the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace now has 60,000 active apps worldwide, powered by approximately 3,000 new apps added each week in January.
Microsoft's milestone outpaces RIM's BlackBerry App World, which received almost two-thirds fewer at around 1,250 apps per week.
However, Distimo's report says RIM's BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps platform ensured App World secured more new apps than the WinPho MarketPlace last week.
Additionally, RIM says that its app store is charging ahead of the Android Market by making more cash for its developers than the Google OS.
