Where's my app at? Head of comms Matt Pollitt explains.
UK developer ustwo took the stage at Monetising Mobile tonight in London, to talk about the company's PositionApp iPhone application.
The app lets people dig into App Store charts, and has been aimed at iPhone developers keen to see where their apps are ranking around the world.
"We made this tool for ourselves really selfishly, then decided to release it as an application!" he says. "We've been scraping Apple's service for the last year and a half."
The app is updated four times a day with charts from every (Apple) App Store around the world, including highlighting the biggest risers, and allowing users to choose select apps to track over time in a Favourites menu.
"It allows you to track your own apps, your competition, and see where the opportunity lies," explained Pollitt.

"The key thing about our application is the historical data. The App Store has an RSS feed that churns out all the position data, and we've been scraping that and kept it all."
Developers can thus track an app's chart success (or lack of) over time, while a sharing feature lets them email its current position to friends and colleagues.
