Live events, breaking news and entertainment push audiences higher
MobiTV says its flagship mobile TV services have experienced a 49 per cent increase in daily viewing minutes over the last 12 months.
The company hasn't given specific figures, but says the recent Tiger Woods 'I'm sorry' press conference was responsible for a 3x jump in MobiTV viewership on channels airing the event: ABC News NOW, FOX News, MSNBC and ESPN Mobile TV
MobiTV is available through AT&T, Verizon Wireless and other carriers, and as Sprint TV on the Sprint network in the US.
Ray DeRenzo, CMO of MobiTV, said: “Breaking news, sports and other live events are proven catalysts for tune-in and usage spikes. We’re focused on delivering an experience that is more than just TV on your cell phone with a live experience that compliments the on-demand offerings that consumers care about, which we believe will continue to inspire increased consumer demand for our service.”
