Mobile Streams narrows losses in FY08

Content provider experiences seven per cent fall in revenue, but describes performance as 'solid'.

Mobile Streams has posted a net loss of £2.5 million for 2008, compared to £4.22 million in the previous year.

The company has spent much of the last 12 months re-aligning its business, a process it says contributed to a 'planned' seven per cent fall in annual revenue to £8.44 million.

Operating losses for the year fell by 50 per cent to £2.4 million.

Commenting on the results, Mobile Streams CEO Simon Buckingham said: "[We] made substantial progress during 2008 generating operational efficiencies and focusing on our key partners.

"We have also continued to extend our content catalogue by building on existing relationships and in forming new partnerships. I remain excited by the ongoing changes in the mobile media industry and am committed to exploring new business models to complement our established ‘on-portal’ operator business and the emergent ‘off-portal’ business."
