Down with templates, up with customisation.
DIY apps firm Mobile Roadie says it has moved beyond the template-based format of many of its rivals, to ensure it stays in Apple's good books.
"I don’t think it’s any secret that Apple wants quality apps," CEO Michael Schneider tells Evolver.fm.
"Our response to that has been, ‘let’s build tools that give our clients the flexibility to be individual and unique so that they don’t all look the same, and give them tools to monetize so Apple sees revenue from iTunes sales."
He claims that the results have been good for Apple and for artists, including the likes of Madonna, Taylor Swift, Drake and most recently Take That.
"We don’t regard ourselves as a template anymore, we regard ourselves as a platform," says Schneider.

Next up for the company is adding BlackBerry to its list of supported platforms, joining iPhone and Android. Meanwhile, on iPhone specifically, Mobile Roadie-made apps will soon support Apple's new AirPlay standard.
