Picks up m-commerce business from VeriSign for just $17.5m.
The represents a final exit for Verisign from the mobile content market, after it sold all of Jamba to Fox last year.
It will make Mobile Messenger the biggest player in the US messaging, with an end-to-end technology platform for brands looking to set up a mobile comms channel.
"The industry knows m-Qube as a traditional aggregator. And when it comes to managing mobile campaigns end-to-end, Mobile Messenger is widely known as a strategic and trusted partner providing clients with a full suite of premium services," said Michael Iaccarino, CEO of Mobile Messenger.
"Our acquisition combines these two forces, links our capabilities directly to US and Canadian carriers, strengthens our commitment to provide full-service mobile solutions and gives our clients the unmatched opportunity to deliver dynamic services and content."
The deal doesn't reflect well on Verisign, which acquired mQube for $250 million in 2006.
