When do they want it? Now!
A new YouGov survey commissioned by Volantis Systems claims that consumers are hot for flat-rate data tariffs from their operators.
In fact, 49% of surveyed users in the US and UK said that they'd be more likely to sign up to flat-rate packages if their operators made them easier to sign up to. Presumably the other 51% just like a challenge.
Other findings should give the operators pause for thought. 33% of UK respondents said thay don't use the mobile internet, even though their handsets are capable of it. 25% of US respondents said the same thing.
Volantis' Mobile Internet Attitudes Report also digs into the impatient nature of mobile internet users, revealing that 51% say they're only prepared to spend up to three minutes surfing for a specific piece of content on their phones.
Perhaps linked is the 32% of UK users and 23% of US users who say that network speeds are the biggest barrier to them using the mobile web more often.

Overall, 13% of mobile internet users in the UK (and 17% in the US) are accessing the mobile internet more than once a day, while 27% and 28% respectively are using it at least once a week.
"Operators must do more to open up compelling application and mobile internet services to subscribers of all mobile devices, and make flat-rate data packages far more easily available," says Volantis CEO Mark Watson.
YouGov surveyed 2,185 Brits and 2,139 Americans for the report, using online surveys.
