Consolidation in mobile games publishing? Its just the start, with one major player hinting at fresh acquisitions.
UK-based Digital Bridges has yet to join its competitors Sorrent, Mforma, Infospace and In-Fusio by getting its corporate cheque book out. But thats about to change.
We will be making some interesting announcements in the next six months, said Digital Bridges COO David Gosen when pressed by Mobile Entertainment.
Digital Bridges, which has been active in mobile gaming since the market began in 1999, counts itself as a super-publisher, having bagged some $18 million in VC funding in November and recently extended its office network to span four continents.
Despite consolidation that has seen Iomo, Elkware, Atlas, Thumbworks, MobileScope and others snapped up, there are still some attractive targets available. iFone, for example, is a top three European publisher thanks to its roster of casual games, while Finland s Mr Goodliving has built its own valuable IP with the Playman franchise.

The Far East could also be tempting for a publisher with global ambitions. The purchase of Indiagames by Chinese Internet portal Tom Online in January illustrated a jostling for position in Asia Pacific and DB opened a Singapore office last month.
