It seems Grease had it right. People really are having a blast with summer loving - on their phones.
US mobile measurement firm Ground Truth claims that the number of people visiting mobile dating sites rose by 92% between the first week in June and the last week in July.
Flirtomatic is taking the lion's share of these romance-seeking users too, accounting for 65% of the mobile dating audience in the first week of August.
It's certainly a seasonal thing. "As people become more active during the summer months, their social lives—including dating—become more mobile," says Ground Tryth VP of marketing Evan Neufeld.
"It’s also worth noting that dating sites which are designed around the mobile experience, such as Flirtomatic, are attracting the most users."

The average visitor to mobile dating sites spends around 49 seconds per session, and 12 minutes and 44 seconds over the course of a week.
