3G, hi-res screens and cameras push the growth to $16.85bn.
London-based Visiongain has become the latest analyst firm to predict a mobile ad bonanza in the next few years.
The firm claims that mobile advertising market revenues will grow at a CAGR of 29.31 per cent from $4.66 million to $16.85 billion in 2016 with countries India and China pushing market growth just as Japan and Korea have done.
It says this growth will be powered by hi-res touchscreens, cameras, GPS sensors and 3G connectivity providing advertisers with a better platform.
In the US, the market will get a boost from mobile commerce, while growth in Europe could come from international sporting events in 2012 – specifically the Olympics.
Visiongain also think that there is still some room for newcomers to move into the market and mine new business opportunities.
