India-based mobile ad network changes name ahead of major European push.
InMobi runs a self-service ad exchange that's achieved spectacular results since launching across India and Asia last year. It claims its targeting targeting technology is good enough to take on powerful incumbents like AdMob in Western markets.
The firm has already soft launched in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. Its total network now spans 23 countries.
Naveen Tewari, CEO of InMobi said: “So far, our focus has been on the Asian and African mobile markets. Now
that we have achieved scale there, we feel it is the right time to make the leap to the global stage.
"We are rebranding as ‘InMobi’ to reinforce and simplify our service offering. InMobi not only speaks to our
core offering, but also symbolises our long-term goal of being a global player in mobile Internet advertising.”
The company's first formal appearance as InMobi will be at the DigiDay Mobile trade show in New York starting September 14th.
