iDrum music-creation tool tied into release of Anthems II compilation album.
Ministry of Sound has teamed with iZotope to release the iDrum: Ministry of Sound Anthems app for iPhone and iPod Touch.The app, which has been released in support of Ministry's Anthems II album at a cost of £3.49, allows users to mix their own tracks from a library of 300 original 'old school' samples and 20 drum kits.
iDrum’s UI enables users to build beats layer by layer by tapping the iPhone touchscreen or from shapes and color combinations.
It's not the first time a label has released an iPhone app in support of an album - Polydor generated 30,000 downloads with its recent Snow Patrol tie-in.
Van Uong, licensing account manager at Ministry of Sound, said: “This is a truly unique experience where some of the best known dance music sounds of the last two decades are now available to be recreated on iPhone at the touch of a button.”
