Ministry of Sound puts mobile first

A huge club hit will go mobile a week before its physical and online release.

Let Me Think About It by Ida Corr Vs Fedde le Grand will be released by Ministry of Sound’s record label Data on September 17th in UK stores run by Vodafone, 3, Orange and T-Mobile. Its CD and online download release follows on September 24th.

The single is shaping up to be one of the biggest dance records of the year. It’s already number one in the Shazam Pre-Release Tag Chart, while the video has had 65,000 YouTube hits in a week. It follows on from the huge success of previous Fedde le Grand hits Put Your Hands Up For Detroit and The Creeps.

Patrick Hagenaar, had of mobile (recordings) at Ministry of Sound, said: "For the past 12 months now we have been considering to pre-release one of our records exclusively through mobile, but we feel that now the time is right. 3, Vodafone, T-mobile and Orange are all fantastic channels for us to reach music fans in the UK and, unlike any other channel, offer instant access to our music. The recent addition of the mobile stores to the Official Chart panel means that we can work closely with the mobile operators to push our releases and see the results in Official Singles Chart.’’
