Ad requests up 47% in July.
US mobile advertising network Millennial Media has released its July Mobile Mix report, which adds more datapoints to back up the growth of Google's Android OS.
In July, requests from Android handsets on Millennial's network grew by 47%, up from 27% the previous month. Overall, requests from Android smartphones have jumped 690% since January.
That makes Android the second most popular smartphone OS on Millennial's network, with a 19% share of requests.
It's leapfrogged BlackBerry, which accounted for 16% of requests in July, but is still some way behind Apple's iOS, which took a 55% share.
iOS ad requests increased 24% between June and July, although iPad specifically saw growth of 327% during July. BlackBerry was up 18% for the month.

Millennial has also split out the genres of apps generating revenues on its network, with games remaining the most lucrative - taking a 47% share of app revenues on the network.
Social networking apps are in second place, but music apps are on the rise, taking third spot with nearly 9% share of revenues.
