Company hopes former Qualcomm and Sorrent exec will be a 'catalyst for growth'.
Mobile advertising network Millennial Media has appointed Isaac Babbs as its senior vice president of business development, poaching him from a similar role at Qualcomm, where he oversaw the company's Qualcomm Labs attempts to launch new mobile services.
He's no stranger to Millennial, having sat on its advisory board since 2006. Before Qualcomm, he was president of mobile games publisher Sorrent, which later merged with UK firm Macrospace and rebranded as Glu Mobile. He has also founded and bossed two mobile companies: Tapatap and Atlas Mobile.
"Isaac has been a key innovator in the mobile, technology, media, and entertainment spaces for over 25 years, and his track record of being a catalyst for growth will be invaluable to Millennial Media," says president and CEO Paul Palmieri. "He brings extensive relationships and mobile expertise, and we’re thrilled to have him officially join the team."
Babbs will head up Millennial's San Francisco office as it establishes itself in Silicon Valley, with plans to hire 15-20 software engineers in the next few months.
