Millennial Media appoints Robert Woolfrey as MD in Asia

Former InMobi exec to drive 'aggressive' expansion into emerging market.

Mobile advertiser Millennial Media is set to expand into the Asia-Pacific market with new recruit Robert Woolfrey who will take on the role of managing director in Southeast Asia.

Former InMobi ad sales director Woolfrey will lead projects to build a well-known presence in the market and begin aggressively employing new staff in sectors including sales, operations and business development.

With more than six years experience in the mobile field, Woolfrey has managed advertising and technology-based operations in the region and will concentrate on developing Millennial’s in-market brand and agency sales.

Speaking of the move, Woolfrey, said: "Millennial Media is the leading independent mobile advertising platform in the US and Europe; and will now bring that same premium strategy to Southeast Asia.

"Gartner forecasts that the mobile advertising industry in Asia Pacific will grow from $1.6 billion USD to $6.9B in 2015 and Millennial will be in the prime position to capitalize on that growth with our premium offering for brands and agencies."
