UK firm ignores downturn and increases profits on £68m turnover.
Mobile Interactive Group’s consolidated financial accounts revealed a revenue increase of 74 per cent, from £39m to £68m in the year to April 30th.
Profits were up 52 per cent, while headcount soared by 46 per cent.
The results vindicated the firm's recent expansion beyond its traditional base in transactions, messaging and m-commerce, to launch subsidiaries in mobile advertising (4th Screen), experiential (New Toy), digital comms (Jigsaw) and - this summer - mobile internet publishing (Kilrush).
MIG insists that it has plans for more launches soon, and that this will include overseas expansion.
Barry Houlihan, CEO of MIG, said: “Our unique corporate structure and service offering ensures we continue to see increased demand for our mobile and digital technology, products and services across the group companies.
"Despite the recession, MIG has significantly grown its customer base, year on year, along with several major new contract wins.”
In the past 12 months MIG's major business wins have included: powering O2 Alerts services, building an ‘Instant Win’ platform to power Orange UK’s ‘Bright Top Ups’ programme, using the Kilrush platform to power Vodafone ‘My Page’ and various ITV sites, delivering cross platform digital solutions for Walkers, developing the iSlide iPhone advertising format and more.
