MIG bags deal to create Skype's global mobile website

Will act as a first point of call for people looking for the VoIP company's apps.

UK firm Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) has announced a new deal with Skype to run the VoIP firm's mobile website on a global basis.

The companies are already working together: the site launched in May using MIG's mVoy Publish platform.

The new deal means MIG will be developing a fuller-featured mobile site to detect users' handsets and point them in the direction of the relevant app downloads, product information and support services.

"For many Skype users, their first experience of Skype will be on their mobile phone, so it was important that we give them a mobile browsing experience that helps them make the download process smooth and easy, and ultimately enhances their overall Skype experience," says Linda Summers, Skype's director of product marketing.

"In conjunction with MIG’s platform technology, we will be drawing on our vast knowledge in mobile centric user experience  and design to deliver the ultimate mobile experience to Skype’s global customer base," says MIG's commercial director Matt Crockett.
