Microsoft will ban VoIP on its app store

List of no-no items on Windows Marketplace includes VoIP apps that might upset operators.

PC Pro has revealed the apps that Microsoft won't accept, and as well as VoIP it includes products larger than 10MB, search clients, media players and other stuff that might compete with critical Microsoft or partner apps.

Elsewhere, pirvacy invading software that would "publish a user's location information to any other person without first having received the user's express permission" is also outlawed.

Last month, Apple permitted a Skype app on its own App Store.
