"Solid progress" is being made as the Mango arrival is revealed to stamp out speculation.
Eric Hautala, Microsoft general manager of customer experience engineering has blogged some key information surrounding the release of the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS.
He claims the the company is making solid progress on development now and expects "to start rolling it [the update] out in the next week or two” and then "we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide rollout status.”
Hautala continued by warning people away from unofficial and leaked copies of Windows Phone software as he verified during the Mango update process, every Windows Phone will also receive software from the handset manufacturer.
The firmware is said to have been strategically matched and tuned to the phone and apps synching with all the new features of the update, which is why Hautala insists it's so important to stay away from pirate content.
Microsoft claims the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update includes over 500 new features such as multitasking, Windows Live Messenger and Twitter support.
