Mammoth deal gives MS keys to Yahoo mobile discovery but not exclusively
According to Moconews, Microsoft’s Bing search technology will be used to power search on Yahoo’s mobile sites.
The arrangement should do wonders for Microsoft in mobile search market, where it's a peripheral player, despite one recent dela for MSN to become the default search provider on Verizon.
In the US, this deal will also give Microsoft and Yahoo exclusives on AT&T and T-Mobile USA, leaving Sprint as the only carrier working with Google. In all, Yahoo has about 70 operator relationships worldwide.
