MEX challenges the app store experience

The conference's 2009 Manifesto addresses mobile usability, handset design and emerging markets.

The build up to this year's MEX Mobile User Experience Conference has begun, with event organiser PMN unveiling its 2009 MEX Manifesto.

The eight-point document aims to outline key mobile user experience issues that it says need to be addressed over the next 12 months.

It's no surprise that app store usability is high on this year's agenda, with MEX asserting that such services need to evolve beyond what are essentially "glorified lists", where innovative content is often buried under poor UI design.

The 2009 MEX Manifesto can be read in full by clicking here. PMN are inviting anyone with a view to share before the event, which takes place in London May 19th-20th, to respond through the MEX website.

PMN editorial director Marek Pawlowski said: "The publication of the Manifesto represents the start of a complete process of learning and debate. It is a call to action for the industry to join together in responding and enhancing its collective knowledge of these topics."
