'Practical guide' to the EU's Audiovisual Media Services (AMS) Directive available for download.
The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) Europe chapter has launched its AMS guide in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Ofcom.AMS will update and replace the existing Television without Frontiers (TWF) Directive which currently provides the regulation framework in the EU for the television and broadcast industry.
Under the AMS Directive, existing rules for traditional TV will be enforced for mobile multimedia services, including mobile television broadcasting (linear) and video on-demand (non-linear) services.
MEF Europe says the the Directive will impact 50 per cent of companies operating in the mobile content industry and so produced the guide in partnership with lawyers Denton Wilde Sapte.
