Meet Jack McLean, the 16-year-old iPhone app developer

GCSE student makes Terry Touch with UK studio Ustwo.

UK teenager Jack McLean has launched his first iPhone app, developed during a work experience placement at London studio Ustwo.

Terry Touch is a finger-tapping game developed in two weeks this summer, as McLean looked to get practical experience following his GCSEs.

"I learnt more from creating Terry Touch than I would have learnt from 3 months in a computing lesson," says McLean.

It's not even his first app. McLean launched freebie iPhone app Countdown to Christmas in November 2008, aged 14, which thanks to 125,000 downloads and in-app ads, funded his purchase of a MacBook Pro.

"It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any kid of Jack’s age to be given the chance to do commercial work during a placement, and Jack has gone above and beyond our expectations with his phenomenal dedication to Terry Touch," says Ustwo creative director Mills.
