Foursquare, Chillingo and Spotify emerge victorious at Mobile Entertainment's industry showcase.
Over the years, the ME Awards have reflected the power base of the mobile content business.
Tonight was no exception, as the new giants of social media and app stores emerged to swoop the big prizes.
Chillingo, barely known a year ago but now ubiquitous thanks to Angry Birds, beat off the challenge of established powerhouses such as EA and Gameloft to win 'Best Games Company'.
Meanwhile Foursquare bagged the new 'Best Location Company' gong ahead of rival nominees such as Booyah and Layar.
In the 'Best Music Service Provider' category, Spotify ended Shazam's run of success, impressing the judges with the successful roll-out of its streaming music service onto mobile handsets.
