McDonald's launches Nokia app with Ovi Maps integration

Find your nearest Big Mac'n'fries.

Fast-food chain McDonald's is the latest brand to launch an app on Nokia's Ovi Store.

Its McDonald's Finder UK application was created by digital marketing agency Ashley Bolser Agency, and lets people find their nearest outlet.

The application ties into Nokia's own Ovi Maps service, allowing users to pinpoint McDonald's outlets on a map, and get instructions to navigate to them.

The app also has a built-in call function if... well, we can't think why you'd need to call a McDonald's, but the feature's there for users who need it.

It's not McDonald's UK's first step into the apps world. The company has already released McDonald's Restaurant Finder for iPhone, which does a similar job.

Meanwhile, earlier this year McDonald's ran a location-based advertising campaign with Nokia subsidiary Navteq, which saw ads being delivered to Ovi Maps users in Finland.
However, it's the latest example of a big brand launching on Ovi Store. Others to have made the leap recently include Tesco, Time Out, Pepsi and Absolute Radio, with an exclusive X-Factor app to come.
