Playtech, the world's largest online gaming software PLC, is going mobile with UK developer Masabi.
The partners have just revealed a range of mobile casino applications, with Slots, Black Jack, Roulette, Baccarat and Video Poker apps already rolled out to Playtech licensees.Masabi's experience in developing games for low-end phones in particular allowed Playtech to replicate its online gaming experience on mass-market handsets. Avigur Zamora, CEO of Playtech, said: "As Java mobile phones have become prevalent we now have a new channel for our casino applications…Masabi’s ability to build secure, usable and graphically rich applications on even the most constrained mobile devices will enable our licensees to effectively extend their offerings into the mobile space."
Masabi was founded in 2002 and has a reputation for quirky products such as Pick the Prez and the Iraq War Calculator. It has also created mobile banking and sports betting applications.
