Contracts with four publishers will allow rollout across 20 markets.
The lyric solutions provider has signed the rights for song lyrics from music publishers EMI Music, Universal, Warner/Chappell and Sony/ATV, which marks a first that licenses from all four have been available globally.
The deal means that users of the LyricFind app, which is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android and BlackBerry will now have access to just under two million new song lyrics.
Additionally, other apps that use the LyricFind platform such as Shazam will also have access.
Darryl Ballantyne, CEO and founder of LyricFind, added: "Lyrics’ is one of the most popular search terms online, and we’ve seen increased integration of lyrics into websites, music services and applications since we first launched in 2004.
"For the major publishers, LyricFind is the ideal partner to allow their lyrics to be used by services across the world. We’ve created a proven quality-controlled database that makes it simple for them to make their lyrics available, and most importantly, easily manage the revenue stream from opening up these lyrics."
