See where you've been. Then mash it up.
Social location service Loopt has launched a new feature called Location History, which lets its users download and save their historical activity data from the app. That means all the places they've checked-in to using their phone, as well as how they travelled between them if they're using the Loopt app's background location feature. The data is output as a KML file which can then be imported into Google Earth and Google Maps, among other services. "You might want add geo-tagged photos to your mashups," explains Loopt in a blog post introducing the new feature. "You might want to study your driving routes to find a more efficient commute. You might be interested to see how many miles you travel in a week, a month, a year. You could turn it on at the beginning of a road trip, and off again at the end. Whatever your reason, have fun!" The new feature is turned off by default, so users are being invited to switch it on under their Account Settings on Loopt.Advertisement
