SoLo services make sweet music together.
US social location service Loopt has announced that the latest version of its iOS app includes Facebook Places integration.
That means users can see their friends' Loopt and Facebook Places check-ins on a map, to hook up with them (or avoid them) more easily.
The app also supports dual check-ins, so that Loopt users can simultaneously check-in to both services. Friend comments will also work across both.
When Facebook Places was first announced, it was predicted to be the death of any and all existing social location services. Loopt CEO Sam Altman disagrees.
"When we first learned that Facebook would enter the location space, we saw a huge opportunity before us," says Altman.

"Facebook is introducing its 500 million users to location services. We are glad to have access to the Facebook Places API, and we jumped to incorporate it into Loopt."
Altman says there will be "even more integration" soon, so the new update appears to be just a first step.
Loopt has four million users across its suite of iOS apps, which besides the main Loopt application, also include offshoots Loopt Star, Loopt Pulse for iPad and Loopt Mix.
