TFL, the NHS, Google Maps, Directgov and Metro collaborate on Mylomo.mobi initiative
Mylomo.mobi, a new initiative to mobilise local council services in London and across the UK, has gone live.
The project, which is backed by Capital Ambitions, and Transport for London (TfL) among others, has launched with three ‘live’ London boroughs (Mynewham.mobi, Mygreenwich.mobi and Myhackney.mobi) with 10 others under construction and a live platform supporting the remaining twenty London Authorities.
Work has also been completed to support all non-London UK local Authorities.
The portal, built by SNT Media Networks, allows users to contact their council for basic services such as refuse collections as well as read local news, apply for jobs, view maps and set up local social media communities for clubs or societies.
It also includes content partnerships with the NHS, Google Maps, Twitter, Facebook, VisitLondon, DirectGov, Ticketmaster and the Metro newspaper.

Support for Digital TV (3View) is also included, as is a service called Let Us Know that allows people to report issues via SMS or MMS such as graffiti, anti-social behaviour or parking violations directly to the council.
Ian Tomson-Smith, Head of Mobile at SNT Media Networks, said: “More than 17 million people in the UK do not have broadband connection. By mobilising services, councils offer a more inclusive strategy by reaching the ‘always on generation’ as well as the members of society who do not have the privilege of broadband access."
