Scottish developer changes name to reflect move from location-based to more general app focus.
Kotikan began in a bedroom in 2007, and now claims to be the biggest app developer in Scotland, with a five fold increase in revenue from 2009 to 2010.
The company is big on event guides and location based apps, and has worked with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2009 plus many more festivals.
Its Skyscanner All Flights Everywhere iPhone app hit the number one free travel app spot in 28 countries and reached one million downloads.
Gavin Dutch, MD of Kotikan, said: “At Kotikan we are proving that the Silicon Valley recipe is not the only route to success in the high tech industry and I'm proud to be growing a thriving business right here in Scotland.”
