Little World Gifts signs WWF deal for iPhone virtual items

First brand partner for the UK startup.

UK startup Little World Gifts has signed the first brand partnership for its iPhone app: wildlife charity WWF-UK.

Users of the app - which lets people give each other 3D virtual gifts - can choose from three WWF-branded items: a panda-shaped collection box, a wooden tiger toy and an animated Adélie penguin.

The gifts cost between $3.99 and $4.99 each, with 36% of the revenues going to the charity. Users will also be invited to sign up for further donations (or penguin sponsorships) from within the app.

"We are really excited about the being able to provide our supporters with a new and innovative way of engaging with WWF," says WWF-UK's head of supporter acquisition Becki Jupp.

"The gifts will help raise funds for WWF, and also awareness of the particular species and the work that the purchase will support."
