Lets users see what virtual items and content is nearby.
Augmented reality startup Layar has launched its Layar Stream, which turns the 1.2 million virtual objects that it serves daily into a unified stream for users.
Say again? It's like an index of all the content from all the layers created by developers for the Layar app, helping users to discover it more easily.
Layar Stream will sort these objects by location and type, as well as whether they're made up of 3D objects, images, video or audio.
"Layar Stream is the necessary building block to make Augmented Reality part of every day life," explains CEO Raimo van der Klein.
Layar is inviting its developers to have their layers indexed for the Stream, which will then be made available later this month in an update to the Android version of the app, and then the iPhone version.

More than 600 layers have been published so far for the app, with another 2,000 in development according to Layar.
