Field Fisher Waterhouse and mobile video firm disagree over contract instruction.
According to The Lawyer, FFW has filed a claim to recover £73,000 plus interest, arguing that it was hired by ROK to advise on the acquisition of Inter Credit Group, an English company with Swedish subsidiaries.
ROK, however, is vigorously defending the action, and is understood to have disputed that it ever instructed the firm.
The claim form states: “Although there was no formal engagement letter, both parties understood that they had entered into a contract for the provision of legal services, which was created verbally and through conduct.”
ROK told ME: "FFW were not formally engaged by ROK for advice on the possible acquisition of Inter Credit Group...we relish our chance to defend our position in this case against this un-engaged law firm and we look forward to the battle ahead.
