Electronic Arts has appointed Michael Marchetti as its new SVP and general manager of mobile.
Marchetti will take over from Mitch Lasky (formerly CEO at Jamdat, which was acquired by EA in December 2005) on April 2nd and will report to EA CEO John Riccitello.Lasky, meanwhile, is moving to Silicon Valley to work for VC firm Benchmark Capital, no doubt to help them find the Next Big Mobile Games Thing.
Marchetti previously served as VP and COO at EA Mobile, before which he was chief financial officer at Jamdat.
