Lady Geek launches online video show about mobile apps

Aimed at women, whatever smartphone they own.

Female-focused tech consultancy Lady Geek has launched a weekly online TV show focusing on smartphone apps.

LadyGeekTV will focus on all platforms - iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Nokia - and has secured launch sponsorship from Nokia to promote its Ovi Store.

"Women told us they were frustrated with the sheer volume of apps available and struggled to find apps which made a genuine difference to their lives," says Lady Geek's Belinda Parmar.

She cites research from YouGov showing that while more women bought smartphones than men in the last six months in the UK, twice as many women haven't downloaded a single app yet.

LadyGeekTV's weekly episodes will be hosted on its website as well as on YouTube, while also being made available through Ovi Store. The first episode is embedded below:
