Amazon takes its e-reader app beyond North America.
With Amazon now selling its Kindle e-reader internationally, it was only a matter of time before the spin-off iPhone app also got a wider release. It's just happened.
"We are excited to make the Kindle for iPhone app available to iPhone and iPod touch users in more than 60 countries, allowing them to access the vast selection of the most popular books, all available wirelessly from the Kindle Store," says Ian Freed, VP at Amazon's Kindle division.
The app lets people browse, buy and download e-books from the Kindle store, as well as syncing across e-books that they're reading on the actual Kindle device, or its PC application.
The iPhone app remains free, although one thing that remains resolutely US-focused are the prices - users can only buy books in dollars.
