Craig David would approve of seven-day battery life.
Amazon has announced a firmware update for its Kindle e-reader that boosts the battery life by 85%.
That means it can now last for up to seven days even with its wireless functionality turned on - up from its previously claimed maximum of four days.
The company says the improvement is the result of a six-month program to tweak the firmware and improve its battery management.
Also new is a native PDF reader, letting Kindle users browse their PDF focuments on the device without having to convert them first.
The new firmware will be delivered to existing Kindles via an over-the-air update. It comes just in time for the holiday season, with Kindle facing increasing competition from other e-readers from the likes of Sony, Barnes & Noble and iRex.
