Beta launch sees subscription-based offering make its European debut.
Jesta Digital has launched a beta version of its Bitbop video service in Germany, making it the first European country to get the service following its US debut.
The beta version is free, offering on-demand TV shows and movies across mobile, tablets and PCs. Specifically, its mobile app is available for Android handsets in Germany.
A limited selection of content will be available during the beta period, to give people a taste of what they can expect from the full service. When that goes live eventually, it will cost €9.99 a month for TV shows, with full-length movies to be added later this year.
"We are very excited about bringing our video on-demand, wireless entertainment service, Bitbop, to Germany. We believe that consumers are ready for a customised, entertainment experience that offers the flexibility of viewing whether they are at home or on the go," says chief product officer Joe Bilman.
"Our experience of launching in the U.S. has given us the opportunity to make this version of Bitbop an even better product and we wanted to give consumers a preview of what Bitbop has to offer and a chance to use it for themselves before our commercial launch."
