UK broadcaster puts local and world news, sport and irreverent clips in one place.
ITN has launched what it says is the first ever video-focussed news application for the iPhone, downloadable for free from the App Store globally.The company claims the app, which has been available for seven days, is currently the most downloaded free news app and the number eight most downloaded free app overall on iTunes.
The service has an offline function whereby it stores the latest stories so users can watch on the move and also offers sharing capabilities.
Nicholas Wheeler, MD of multimedia division ITN On, said: “ITN has always been a great believer of content on the move. News is one of the biggest services on handsets and ITN has built a great reputation as a provider of high quality video journalism on mobile.
"We believe iPhone and iPod Touch users will really value the unique video element of this application as well as its ease of use and offline capability.”
