According to research by Retrevo, one in ten people under the age of 25 thinks it's acceptable to send text messages when they should be focusing on the communion of two people in one deeply spiritual act.

The survey revealed a predictable gap between the generations on when it's OK to use a mobile; only six per cent of over 25s would pause during lovemaking to text.
They may be too busy reading.
49 per cent of under 25s would text during a meal, 24 per cent on the toilet and 22 per cent during a meeting.

Among over 25s, the respective figures were 27 per cent, 12 per cent and 17 per cent.
Only about one-third of parents ban teen texting at the dinner table, and only 12 per cent will take away social media as a punishment.
Retrevo also found that almost half of social media users check in via phone while lying in bed. About 48 per cent of those polled said they check Facebook or Twitter in bed.
