Aggregates Twitter, Facebook and news feeds in one place.
2010 is going to be a year of Web 2.0 overload, as people start to feel overwhelmed by the sheer number of social media channels competing for their attention.
Just this week, Google Buzz launched, for example, leading many people to wonder whether they really have time to update that, Facebook and Twitter.
For this reason, social media aggregation is going to be important this year, particularly in the mobile world. Also because it's an area operators feel they can play a role.
The latest example is a partnership between T-Mobile UK and iSkoot, which focuses on an app called iSkoot Notifier.
The idea: it aggregates Facebook, MySpace and Twitter data, as well as more than 50 news, sports and entertainment feeds, then serves it up to users, even (or perhaps especially) if they're on less powerful handsets.

"We know that our customers want to use social networking," says Matthew Dove, T-Mobile's head of prepaid products. "Notifier works on low end devices, which means we can get it to the widest number of customers, not just smartphone users."
The app is based on iSkoot's Kalaida mobile web services platform, which is used by several US operators.
"Because our solutions do the heavy lifting in the cloud and deliver communications to a single platform, service providers can bring social networking and news feeds to almost any mobile device they offer regardless of the technology," says CEO Mark Jacobstein.
