Remember those long-gone days when an annoying cartoon character could become a ringtone smash-hit before taking the actual pop charts by storm?
Crazy Frog couldn't happen nowadays, of course. Could it? Er, actually, yes.
Meet René La Taupe. He's a "humorous singing mole" created by Fox Mobile Group, which we won't need to remind you includes Jamba.
René started life as a ringtone in France, but has just topped the French music download chart with his song 'Mignon Mignon', while also racking up more than five million views on YouTube.
The character was created by FMG together with Famties Production.

"In conceiving René we wanted to create an entertaining, affable character who would have a
connection with everybody," says William Linders, FMG's EVP of content.
"We look forward to more music from our favourite mole."
