Analyst says 15 to 20 per cent of iPhone owners use the device for business reasons.

A report on Reuters suggests Apple is taking a bite out of Research In Motion's US corporate client base.

According to analysts the trend is particularly noticeable at small and medium-sized companies, with employees apparently convincing employers to make the switch to iPhone.

Jack Gold, founder of research firm J.Gold Associates, told Reuters: "I see very few companies turning off BlackBerries... [but] I see more companies turning on support for the iPhone."

He says 15 to 20 per cent of iPhone owners use the device for business reasons.

Meanwhile, Ken Dulaney, VP of mobile computing at Gartner said Apple will double its share of the enterprise wireless email market within 12 months.

He said: "I think [Apple is] having a lot of luck getting into the enterprise, although still to a limited extent."
