Could Apple's device plug the 'mobile' gap left by PSP?
EA has pledged to release 30 iPhone games for the iPhone this year – a move that could make Apple’s device EA’s primary format.
In its Q4, EA Mobile (wireless) revenue increased by 20 per cent year-on-year to $49 million.
However, EA's total 'mobile' revenue in Q4 (wireless, PSP, DS) was down 13 per cent a $131 million, primarily due to a 39 per cent slump in PSP sales.
It seems Apple's could help plug that gap, as the company looks to exploit 'new' gaming channels.
This includes online too, with membership of EA’s casual portal Pogo.com hitting new highs, with 1.8 million paying subscribers now using the service.
