iPhone grabs European mobile advertising share

AdMob metrics show iPhone among the top 10 devices for ad requests in France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.

The iPhone is grabbing mobile advertising market share in Europe - in addition to being among the top 10 devices for ad requests in the countries above during May, the device is in the top 20 devices in every market where Apple has a formal operator distribution partnership.

In AdMob-tracked markets where the iPhone is in the top 20 devices, the iPod Touch is also in the top 20 devices.

Other tidbits from AdMob's May report include:

AdMob is now serving more than 100 million mobile ads a day globally.

Mobile ad traffic in Spain and Italy has doubled on average since September 2007. Spain showed the greatest percentage growth in Europe and Ireland the slowest over the last eight months.

Symbian devices have a 79 per cent share of smartphone ad traffic in Europe.

Nokia devices have a 30 per cent share of European ad traffic.
Smartphones make up a large percentage of ad traffic in the Netherlands. The Hiptop (T-Mobile, Danger) grabs the number one device position with 8.7 per cent of Dutch traffic.

The Palm Centro has jumped into the top 10 trafficked devices in the US.
